Mufti extends Diwali greetings to the people of J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today extended his Diwali greetings to the people of the state.

In his message, Mufti Sayeed hoped that the festival of lights would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister said that while celebrating festivals, we must remember the poor and needy and share joy with them.

He said we have a rich tradition of celebrating festivals in amity and brotherhood in the state, in consonance with our unique multicultural ethos.

Governor N N Vohra also extended his warm greetings to the people on the occasion and said that the auspicious day would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the state.
 

The Governor also wished the state and said that the festival will further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquility and secularism, which are the hallmarks of our glorious composite cultural traditions and prayed for the well-being of the people of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh also extended his greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Diwali.

In a message, he hoped that the festival of lights would usher an era of peace, prosperity and development.

He said that while celebrating the festival, we must also remember to share joy and happiness with the weaker and downtrodden sections of the society.

Director General of Police, (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar also extended warm greetings to all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police, their families and people of the state on the auspicious occasion.

General officer-commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command Lt Gen DS Hooda also extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and all security forces personnel and the people of the state on the festival.
