Terming Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the "legend of 21st century", senior PDP leader Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that the party will observe the first death anniversary of the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir here on January 7 next year.
Addressing a meeting of party workers at the PDP headquarters here, Zulfkar, who is also the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said that the party will observe the first death anniversary of Mufti at Gandhi Nagar Ground, Jammu.
Mufti died on January 7 this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Zulfkar termed Mufti as the "legendary leader of 21st century".
"He wanted to make the people of Jammu and Kashmir self-reliant by restoring their dignity," he said.
He, however, said that Mufti's mission from Jammu and Kashmir will be carried forward and PDP will strive till the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
"Mufti always said that dialogue is the only solution of any problem and PDP has firm belief that only dialogue process can resolve the Kashmir issue," he said.
Zulfkar also stressed upon the Central government as well as the government of Pakistan to "shun atmosphere of hostility" and sit on the table to resolve all issues including Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Minister constituted various committees for the programme of January 7, 2017, and stressed upon workers to pay tributes to Mufti.
Sardar Rangil Singh, Vice President of the party, will be the Chairman of Organizing Committee of the programme while all districts presidents have been instructed to participate with delegates.
