Mukul Roy to take forward Mamata's 'Vision 2020'

"I salute the core objective underlined in her vision to take Indian Railways on a new path of high growth. I am committed to take forward this agenda," Roy said replying to a debate on demands for grants in the Lok Sabha.

"Mamata Banerjee gave Indian Railways a much needed road map in the form of 'Vision 2020' document. She envisaged that the Indian Railway will cater to the needs of the people across the country and income strata," he said.

He said efforts would be made to mop up resources through non-tariff measures to fill the gap created as a result of steps announced earlier to provide the much needed relief to passengers travelling in second class, AC-3 and AC chair car.
