Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today inaugurated the 23rd conference of the police chiefs of seven North Eastern states and West Bengal.
Two-day conference dwelt at length on the security scenario region and stressed on inter-state and inter-departmental coordination besides issues such as the international border management, a statement from the police said.
The conference was attended by Spl DG of the IB, DG Narcotic Control Bureau, DGPs of Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, Nagaland, and ADGs of Tripura, Manipur as well as West Bengal, it said.
Shillong had hosted the conference for a record eight times in past 24 years since it was first convened.
