SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today alleged that BJP-led Centre was hatching controversy against the Uttar Pradesh government.

"Conspiracies are being hatched in Delhi (by BJP) against the state government. BJP is upset due to its defeat in assembly by elections in the state," Yadav said.

Addressing office bearers at party headquarters here, the Samajwadi leader said that the one-year rule of Narendra Modi government was filled with "confusion while BJP was trying to ruin the country".

"Farmers' land is being snatched away from them. They (Centre) had promised jobs for youths, check on price rise and controlling activities of China, but failed miserably on all fronts. What happened to their promises?," he asked

Asking party men to gear up for the 2017 assembly polls, Yadav said that by strengthening the organisation of the party, "we could counter communalism, which is a challenge".

Appreciating his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the leader said that the good works initiated in UP was an example for other states.
