Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav's health has improved and he has been shifted out of the ICU.

"The condition of party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has improved and he has been shifted out of the ICU and moved to private ward," his brother and UP Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav told reporters here.

"He essentially needs at least four days rest although doctors have advised him seven days rest... All his tests have been conducted and their results are normal," Shivpal said.

Making an appeal to party workers and leaders not to crowd the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon where Yadav was admitted last week, Yadav said it leads to unnecessary problems for doctors and other patients undergoing treatment there.

They can meet him once he is fully recovered, he said, adding that due to the gathering of party leaders and workers, Mulayam today came out and waved at them to indicate that he is better now.

Mulayam was air-lifted from Lucknow to the super speciality hospital in Gurgaon after his health condition had deteriorated last week.
