Multi-agency raids against different govt departments

A multi-agency raids were carried out in different departments of Delhi government like Food and Supplies, Transport, Trade and Taxes, Revenue, Health and Education to check irregularities and malpractices.

This is the third raid in the past one month carried out on the directions of Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.

Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs once again took up a drive across the city today to check black marketing and diversion of foodgrains meant for public distribution system and conducted raids on flour mills, specially in Narela Industrial Area, Lawrence Road and Bawana Industrial Area.

Three flour mills were sealed for having unaccounted stock of foodgrains and 5 flour mills were prosecuted for various violations of Packaged Commodities Rules and Legal Metrology Act.
 

Various gas agencies indulging in delivery of underweight LPG cylinders were raided by Weights and Measures Wing and 10 gas agencies were prosecuted for supply of underweight cylinders and for other violations.

The teams checked whether the delivery vehicles were carrying weighing scales so that the gas cylinder is weighed before the consumer during delivery.

The department is also taking up the matter with the concerned Oil Marketing Companies to take necessary action against these agencies.

Further, Transport Department conducted inspection of motor licensing offices to check the presence of touts and if the citizens faced any harassment.

Several teams also raided car showrooms to check for any malpractice and violations of Motor Vehicles Act. The inspections will continue till late night.
