A multi-level car parking facility and a queue complex are to be constructed at the famous Guruvayoor Lord Krishna Temple in Thrissur with a huge rush of pilgrims being witnessed throughout the year.

This decision was taken at a high level meeting here today chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in which Devaswom minister V S Siva Kumar were among those present.

This was a long pending demand of devotees, Chandy said.

The queue complex and multi-level car parking facility would be constructed at the devaswom land adjacent to the temple.

Thirty traders, presently engaged in various businesses, would be rehabilitated elsewhere. Temporary sheds would be provided to them near the temple to run their business until the construction of their shops are completed.
