Multiple quarters of Odisha MLAs come under HC scanner

The Orissa High Court today issued notice to the state government asking it to furnish a detailed list of all present and former MLAs who have allegedly occupied more than one government quarters in the capital Bhubaneswar.

A division bench of justices Vinod Prasad and B N Rath issued the notice after taking up a PIL in this regard filed by 75-year-old retired government official Pradyumna Kumar Mishra, Mishra's counsel B P Tripathy said.

Mishra in his petition has urged the high court to direct the State Accountant General to conduct a special financial audit for the last 25 years to find out the loss incurred by the state government on account of the illegal possession of more than one government quarters by the present and former lawmakers.
