As the metropolis gears up for monsoon, police administration has started distributing specially designed raincoats for its personnel so that they work without hindrance.

Police Commissioner Dattatray Padsalgikar today disturbed over one-and-a-half dozen raincoats to personnel at a function held in the premises of Azad Maidan Police Station in South Mumbai.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Anup Kumar and Bollywood actress Divya Dutta were also present on the occasion.

The yellow raincoats are tight at the wrist to allow police personnel to keep their hands free during rains and have special pockets, police said.

More than 1,600 such raincoats will be distributed in the coming days, they added.
