Calcutta Journalist Club today strongly condemned the gang-rape of a 23-year-old photojournalist in Mumbai and demanded punishment for the perpetrators.
"We severely condemn the rape of the photojournalist and demand exemplary punishment for the perpetrators of the heinous crime," general secretary of the Club, Prantik Sen said in a statement here.
The victim, who worked as an intern with an English magazine, was gang-raped by five men on Thursday evening when she had gone to the deserted Shakti Mills compound in Lower Parel with a male colleague on assignment.
