Mumbai mayor demands Rs 70,000 cr for city from Fin Commission

Demanding a financial allocation of Rs 70,000 crore from the Finance Commission for the city, Mumbai Mayor Sunil Prabhu today said it would help provide better civic amenities.

"To provide excellent civic facilities to the people of Mumbai, Finance Commission should grant the fund of Rs 70,000 crore," according to an official statement.

Prabhu met chairman of the 14th finance commission Y V Reddy and other members today, it added.
