Former Maharashtra minister Kripashankar Singh and some BJP leaders met hawker Vishal Pandey who was beaten up earlier this week allegedly by Shiv Sena workers.

Singh, BJP Mumbai general secretary Amarjeet Mishra and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Mumbai unit chief Mohit Khamboj assured Pandey of legal and financial support.

Singh called it an unfortunate incident while Mishra offered monetary help to the hawker's family.

Pandey, who lives in Prabhadevi, was beaten up Wednesday near Siddhivinayak Temple in Dadar.

He was admitted in KEM Hospital in Parel with head and back injuries.

A police complaint was filed against three persons who were nabbed Thursday and granted bail by a local court Friday.
