Mumbai student is top scorer in entrance examination

Kushagra Pandey, a student from Mumbai, is the top scorer in the all India online entrance examination conducted on June 5by JIPMER for admission to first MBBS course in the institute during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Giving details of the examination and also the results at a press conference here today the Dean of Academics in JIPMER Dr Mahadevan said that Kushagra Pandey coming under unreserved category has scored 100 percentile in the test for admission to the course.

V V Muhammed Munavvir of Kannur in Kerala has emerged top scorer in the OBC category (non creamy) with 99.99 percentile.
 

In the Scheduled category Ishita Ishita from Himachal Pradesh has scored 99. 87 percentile and is the top scorer in this category.

Under scheduled tribes category Ravi Najabhai Karmata from Ahmedabad has scored 99.77 percentile.

G Bharathkumar from Madanapalley in Andhra Pradesh coming under orthopedically handicapped category has emerged with 99.67 percentile.

Director of JIPMER Dr S C Parija said that the computer based entrance test was held for the first time by JIPMER in 270 centres spread over 75 cities across the country.

JIPMER has a total intake of 200 including fifty seats available in the new annexe of the institute in Karaikal while the remaining 150 seats are available in the institute in Puducherry.

The institute has earmarked fifty four seats out of the total 200 seats for students of Union Territory of Puducherry.
