Former chief minister Arjun Munda today sought the intervention of Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das with regard to the decision of closure of Tata Rolls Limited (TRL), a subsidiary of Tata Steel, situated at Gamariah in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district.
Calling on Das here, Munda said the over five-decade-old TRL, (formerly Tata-Yodogawa Limited) was a metal fabrication and processing company headquartered at Jamshedpur, should not be closed as employees and their families would suffer.
In a press release, the senior BJP leader said the closure would adversely impact the government's move to lure investment to the mineral-rich state.

Munda, who led a delegation of the company employees, suggested to constitute a high-level team of the state government to take stock of the prevailing state of affairs of the company.
The employees apprised Munda that resentment has been prevailing among employees ever since the company decided to introduce voluntary retirement scheme to retrench employees and suspend all production activities following a meeting held on May 26, the release said.
Tayo Rolls produces primarily cast rolls, forged rolls, special castings and pig iron.
