In a letter to Union Chemical and Fertilizer Minister M K Alagiri, Munda requested him to increase the quota from current 88,000 metric tonne to 1,70,000 metric tonne to help the state achieve its foodgrain target.
Stating that the state's quota of urea fell short last year in the face of good monsoon and the subsequent difficulties it faced, chief minister also asked extra 60,000 MT of urea and 5,000 MT of DAP (used as a fertilizer) for pre-positioning.
