NCP leader Dhananjay Munde today demanded action against officials of a city school, which he claimed, forced some students to stand outside the premises for not paying the hiked fees.

The institute, Shardhashram Vidyamandir Shardhashram Vidyamandir School, located in Dadar West, however, denied any such incident.

"It is a shame the school forced students and their parents to stand outside the gates in rains over fees. Action should be taken against the guilty. This shows the education department has no control over schools," Munde tweeted.

When contacted, a senior official from the school claimed no such incident has occurred. "I am not aware of any such incident happening outside our school," she said.

Parents of senior KG students are engaged in a tussle with school authorities over a 40 per cent hike in fee this academic year.

While the fees last year were Rs 25,000, they are now being asked to shell out Rs 43,000.

School officials have claimed an improper student- teacher ratio forced them to hike fees.
