Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar has ordered installation of CCTV cameras in Mul and Ballarpur cities of his home district Chandrapur within two months.
"The CCTV in Mul city will be installed from the budget of district planning committee whereas Western Coalfield will share the expenditure to set up CCTVs in Ballarpur city," Mungantiwar, also the Guardian Minister of the district, told reporters here today.
In his meeting with district collector, the minister instructed the administration to immediately cover all major chowks and highways with 33 CCTV cameras in Mul city.
Mungantiwar also instructed to focus on the safety in Ballarpur, the most industrially developed city in the district that has also recorded a steep rise in the crime rate.
