Murder accused escapes from police custody in UP

An accused in a murder case, carrying a cash reward of Rs 25,000, fled from a police lockup here Thursday morning, officials said.

Magan Pasi was arrested from his native Tengua village on Wednesday evening and kept in the City Kotwali police station lockup, Circle Officer (City) Anjani Rai said.

An FIR has been filed against the head constable and the constable who were on duty, and a hunt launched to nab the culprit, he added.
