Murder accused nabbed in Mumbai

Akil Malik, who was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, is a resident of Zafrabad area of North-East Delhi, police said.

Malik, wanted for his alleged involvement in four cases in various police stations of the national capital, was living in Mumbai with his family.

He worked as an electrician during 1993-1997 and later took to the crime after coming into contact with some local criminals, a senior police official said, adding that his wife is a model.

"Malik has been evading arrest for more than a year and had adopted a novel modus operandi. He had indulged in a spate of robberies and murder in 2011. He used to flee Mumbai after committing crime," the official said.
