In the last four months, his condition deteriorated leading to serious blood deficiency, Tamrakar added.
The under trial prisoner's body was sent for autopsy and the jail officials have requested the district and session judge to conduct a judicial probe into the matter.
Earlier in January, Das had made an unsuccessful attempt to commit suicide in the jail's barrack by hanging himself, Tamrakar said.
According to police sources, Das had allegedly abducted and killed the doctor couple's son Ishan when they refused to offer him a job in their new hospital.
The deceased had earlier worked as a computer operator with the couple on a medical project in the city.
Furious over the denial of job, Das abducted the victim on the day of inauguration of the hospital on June 22, 2013 and later killed him, sources added.
