A local leader, who was an accused in a murder case, was today shot dead allegedly by two persons inside the district court campus here, police said.
The head of Dilari block, Yogen Singh alias Bhoora, was shot dead this afternoon when he was waiting for his lawyer outside the courtroom of ACJM-2 for a hearing, SSP Moradabad Lov Kumar said.
Bhoora, who was in jail since last year, was the prime accused in the murder case of Rinku, a student union leader of Hindu College, Moradabad.

The SSP said that immediately after the incident, Bhoora was rushed to district hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police arrested two persons, Sumit, who was Rinku's brother, and another relative, Pankaj, from the spot and recovered two pistols from their possession.
A resident of village Humayanpur, Yogen had been elected the head of Dilari block three times.
Meanwhile, Bhoora's father, Bhole Singh alleged negligence on the part of police.
The incident is reminiscent of the Vicky Tyagi murder case, in which Tyagi, an alleged gangster, was shot dead by a youth inside a courtroom here while hearing in the case was going on.
