Some persons were today detained for questioning in connection with the mysterious death of a teenage boy in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir as police changed inquest into a murder case, a police officer said.
After a written complaint by the family of the deceased, police have registered a case under relevant sections including 302 of Ranbir Penal Code in Budhal police station in connection with the death of the boy after closing inquest proceedings," the officer said.
Chander Parkash, a resident of Keri Khawas village, died under suspicious circumstances after a scuffle with a boy from other community on Thursday.
Police has also constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the incident.
The SIT headed by a deputy superintendent of police started its investigations in the matter and is camping in the area, the officer said.
So far, some persons of the area have been detained for questioning and further investigation is underway, he said.
The officer said postmortem of the deceased was conducted by a board of doctors last evening in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sunderbani.
