Murder case: SP leader surrenders before court

A local SP leader wanted in a murder case surrendered before court here which remanded him in judicial custody till January 21, police said today.

The SP leader Mehrajuddin surrendered before Chief Judicial Magistrate Sunder Lal yesterday.

The former district general secretary of Samajwadi Party is an accused in a murder case at Tewda village under Kakroli Police Station.

According to the prosecution, a man identified as Alem was murdered by the accused at Tewda village on January 28, 2013.

An FIR was registered against six persons including the SP leader.
