A murder convict was killed by unidentified people on Saturday in Kachipura area of Nagpur, police said.
Harish Raghunath Patel (35) was found dead with multiple stab wounds near his house under Bajaj Nagar police station limits in the early hours of the day, an official said.
"Patel was convicted for the murder of one Yogesh Patta and was released from jail after serving eight years. He was running a roadside Chinese food stall," he said.
Zone I Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Masal said a list of history-sheeters was being compiled as part of the murder probe.
