A murder convict who was out on parole allegedly killed a man and disfigured his face in an attempt to stage his own death and evade the prison term, police said.
The body of the victim -- a 30-year-old man -- was found under a bridge in Ujalia village yesterday. His face had been crushed but papers in his pocket identified him to be Bhavsingh Aalia, who had got parole on September 10, they said.
However, the name 'Suresh' was tattooed on the dead man's hand, which made police suspicious, said Depalpur police station In-Charge Sunil Yadav.

Bhavsingh, who is undergoing life imprisonment for murder, had been released on a 15-day parole.
His mobile call record led police to Prakash, a Khargone resident, who identified the dead man as his brother, Suresh. He told the police that Bhavsingh had called over Suresh to meet a girl, a prospective match.
Police believe that Bhavsingh, who is yet to be traced, killed Suresh with the intention of staging his own death so that he may not have to serve the reminder of his sentence.
Further probe is on.
