Murder mystery solved, killer nabbed

Sahibabad police have solved the murder of a man whose body was found with his throat slashed near a graveyard in Farukh Nagar with the arrest of the accused today, police said.

Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Ashish Srivastav said that during probe, officers came to know that the deceased Praveen was killed by his friend Karan Balmiki.

On a tip police nabbed him today around 6.30 am from Bhopura village.

Balmiki confessed that he killed Praveen by slitting his throat because he had slapped him.

Narrating the story he added that Praveen was addicted to smoking ganja and for this he had borrowed Rs 500 rupees a couple of days ago and was further demanding Rs 200 rupees for buying ganja from him.
 

"When I refused to give him money he slapped me, I felt insulted and to avenge it I lured Praveen from his house to the graveyard on the pretext of showing him magic and cut his throat with a sharp knife after tying his hands with a cloth," Balmiki said.

With the recovery of weapon used in the crime the accused has been sent to jail.
