Four persons surrendered before a court here today in connection with the recent murder of a senior Vanniar Sangam functionary near Mayiladuthurai.
The four, all aged around 24, surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate Court-I which remanded them to 15 days judicial custody, police said.
State Vice-President of Vanniar Sangam K Agoramurthy was killed by a six-member gang at Sembonarkovil in Nagapattinam District on November 2.
The murder of Murthy had caused tension in and around Mayiladuthurai, a strong belt of most backward Vanniars.
