Two days after an 18-year-old boy was "lynched" by a group of people in a village, over 60 km from here, for allegedly killing a minor girl, her parents and brother were today arrested in connection with his death.

DSP P Mathavan said the boy was in love with the 16-year-old girl and they had left their Malayalapatti village village two days ago. He was questioned by the girl's relatives when he returned alone and had taken them to a forest area where her body was found.

Angry relatives then tied him to a pole and beat him up till he collapsed and died.

The post-mortem conducted on the girl's body found no external injury or any trace of sexual violence, he said, adding, police are investigating how she died.

Two murder cases were registered-- one against the girl's parents and brother and another against the boy for allegedly killing the girl.
