The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir will host famous poets of the country with the state tourism department organising a cultural festival on November 19.
"The one-day Kul-Hind Musharia festival at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar would be held on November 19 to attract tourists to the state during winter," Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir said today.
The mushaira would be held for the first time in Srinagar, in which eminent poets and writers of the country, besides reputed poets of the state are participating, Mir said.

Mir said such events prove beneficial for promotion of tourism in the state, which offers employment opportunities and generates economic activities.
"Steps have to be taken to encourage and promote conventional tourism. Besides, skiing, river rafting, mountaineering, mountain biking and other adventure tourism need to be properly showcased and encouraged in the state," he said.
