Music Broadcast, the Jagran Group firm that runs Radio City FM channel, today posted a 11.17 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 12.73 crore for September quarter.

It had reported a net profit of Rs 14.33 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.

Total income during the quarter under review stood at Rs 80.81 crore as against Rs 70.07 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

"Our long-term strategy of limiting the cost per million and selecting the correct set of markets has helped us to perform better than the industry," Music Broadcast Director Apurva Purohit said.

"We are already witnessing an uptick in the industry due to the festive season and improvements compared to the previous quarters. Our continuous endeavour is to keep the customer engaged and also improve the yield in top markets and utilisation levels in new markets," added Purohit.
