Music composer Anandji Shah to receive Lata Mangeshkar Award

The award, given away every year on the occasion of Lata Mangeshkar's birthday on September 28, comprises a cash prize of Rs five lakh, a citation and a memento.

Anandji's name was recommended by a committee comprising music composers like Khayyam and Ashok Patki, poet N D Mahanor and cultural affairs director Ashutosh Ghorpade.

Meanwhile, the Natvarya Prabhakar Panshikar Award for lifetime achievement in theatre will be presented to senior actor Atmaram Bhende. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs five lakh, a citation and a memento.

Bhende has been associated with Marathi, Hindi and English theatre for more than six decades as an actor, director and producer.

 

Dates of the award ceremony will be announced soon, a statement issued by the chief minister's office said.
