A local court today freed noted music director Shrawan on bail today in a five-year old cheque bouncing case.
The music director's advocate Anshuman Shrivastava told reporters that judicial magistrate Ajay Pendam had released his client on a bail of Rs 20,000.
The advocate said the court had issued a non-bailable warrant on June 14 against his client and this had been challenged in the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
He said the high court had directed the lower court to free the music director on bail.
Music director Shrawan had issued a cheque for Rs 15 lakh to businessman Vineet Sharma in 2008, which bounced, after which Sharma had approached the court.
