Mustard oil falls on easing local demand

Mustard oil prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand from local parties.

However, other edible and non-edible oils continued to move in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at previous levels.

Traders said besides fall in local parties demand, adequate stocks position in the market mainly kept pressure on mustard oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 7,500 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnutseed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.
 

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,900, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,650-1,700, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,500, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,270-1,320, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,320-1,420, sesame mill delivery Rs 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,550, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,250, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,200, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,750, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,500, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,400 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,225-2,250.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,450, Castor Rs 9,800-9,900, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
