Mustard oil weakens on muted demand

Mustard oil prices eased by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale market today on tepid demand from local parties.

However, other edible and non-edible oils continued to trade in a tight range in the absence of any worthwhile activity and settled around previous levels.

Traders said subdued demand from local parties against adequate stocks position led to decline in mustard oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 8,850 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.
 

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,000, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,700-1,750, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,850, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,500-1,550, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,550-1,650, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,600, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,700, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,200, Cotton seed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,800, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,350, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,300 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 1,900-1,950.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 9,100, Castor Rs 9,600-9,700, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
