Mustard oil weakens on subdued demand

Mustard oil weakened by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on sluggish demand from local parties.

However, other edible and non-edible oils traded in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said subdued demand from local parties led to decline in mustard oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil shed Rs 50 to Rs 6,550 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Oilseeds: Mustardseed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,060-1,290.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,200, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,250-1,350, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 6,550, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,100-1,150, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,150-1,250,sesame mill delivery 9,000 Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,900, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,600, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,550, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,200, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,200, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,000 and Coconut (per tin) 2,650-2,780.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,700, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 9,450-9,550, Neem 5,300-5,400.

Oilcakes: Groundnut Dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (New) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175.
