Mustard seed prices receded by Rs 17 to Rs 3,914 per quintal in futures trade today as traders cut down bets, triggered by a weak trend at the spot markets.

The fall in mustard seed prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend at the physical markets on constant supplies from growing belts amid reduced demand from oil mills, marketmen said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for the most-traded delivery in June dropped by Rs 17 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 3,914 per quintal, with the business turnover of 1,17,110 open lots.

Mustard seed for delivery this month also fell by Rs 14 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 3,874 per quintal, witnessing an open interest of 9,780 lots.
