Mustard seed prices weakened by Rs 25 to Rs 3,653 per quintal in futures trade today amid offloading of holdings by speculators in tune with weak physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in August slipped by Rs 25 to Rs 3,653 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 63,350 lots.
The delivery for September too moved down by Rs 24, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 3,692 per quintal, in an open interest of 15,650 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in its prices at spot markets on muted demand from oil mills coupled with increased arrivals mainly weighed on mustard seed prices here in futures trading.
