Mustard seed futures recover on short-covering

Mustard seed prices bounced by Rs 18 to Rs 3,941 per quintal in futures trading today after participants covered-up their short positions amid a firm trend at the physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in December recovered by Rs 18, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 3,941 per quintal, having an open interest of 6,490 lots.

Mustard seed to be delivered in January also gained Rs 11, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 3,996 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 41,320 lots.
