Extending its upward march, mustard seed prices rose by another Rs 37 to Rs 3,763 per quintal in futures trading today as traders continued to enlarge their holdings on the back of strong trend at the physical markets.

Marketmen said strengthening their positions taking positive cues from the spot markets on keen demand from oil mills against restricted arrivals from growing regions mainly supported the uptick in mustard seed prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery this month increased further by Rs 37, or 3,763 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,120 lots.

Mustard seed for most-traded September delivery also moved higher by Rs 36, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 3,793 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 55,510 lots.
