Mustard seed futures slip on weak spot demand

Mustard seed prices fell by Rs 10 to Rs 3,818 per quintal in futures trade today after traders liquidated positions amid weak cues from physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, mustard seed for the most-active October month contract eased by Rs 10 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 3,818 per quintal, having an open interest of 46,660 lots.

The current month contract of mustard seed was trading lower by Rs 8 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 3,750 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 3,840 lots.

Analysts said traders reduced positions after weak demand at physical markets.
