Mustard seed futures up on positive physical cues

Mustard seed prices went up by Rs 26 to Rs 4,229 per quintal in futures trade today following expansion of bets by speculators, driven by positive spot cues.

Marketmen said raising of bets by participants, taking positive lead from the spot markets on firm demand, mainly led to a rise in mustard seed prices at futures trade here.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed delivery for August went up by Rs 26, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 4,229 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,25,080 lots.

Also, delivery in current month contract for mustard seed inched up by Rs 3, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 4,203 per quintal, in an open interest of 420 lots.
