Mustard, soyabean oils weaken on sluggish demand

Prices of mustard and soyabean oils declined by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand from vanaspati millers and retailers.

However, castor oil in the non-edible section, traded higher on increased offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said subdued demand from vanaspati millers and retailers against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in mustard and soyabean oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (dadri)oil eased by Rs 50 to Rs 8,750 per quintal. Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils also traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,700 and Rs 6,400 per quintal respectively.
 

On the other hand, in the non-edible, castor oil edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 9,700-9,800 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 800-1,000.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 13,200, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,950-2,000, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,750, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,405-1,4550, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,455-1,555, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,700, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,700, Soybean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,450, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 6,500, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,800, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,850 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 1,550-1,600.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 9,700, Castor Rs 9,700-9,800, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
