Mustardseed falls by Rs 31 in futures trade

Mustardseed prices weakened by Rs 31 to Rs 3,787 per quintal in futures trading today owing to increased selling by speculators in line with weak physical markets.

Marketmen said increased arrivals from growing regions amid muted demand at the physical markets, mainly weighed on trading sentiments at futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the most-active delivery in far-month April dropped by Rs 31, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 3,787 per quintal, with an open interest of 48,740 lots.

Mustardseed for delivery in May declined by Rs 29, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 3,835 per quintal, having an open interest of 10,870 lots.
