Mustardseed prices were higher by Rs 65 to Rs 4,690 per quintal in futures trading today after participants created speculative positions amid a firm trend at the physical market.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed delivery for delivery in December month contracts spurted by Rs 65, or 1.41 per cent, to Rs 4,690 per quintal, with an open interest of 41,180 lots.
On similar lines, mustardseed for delivery in January next year contracts was trading higher by Rs 58, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 4,718 per quintal, having an open interest of 27,530 lots.
Marketmen said a firm trend at the spot markets on the back of rising demand against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly influenced sentiments at futures trading.
