Mustardseed prices drifted lower by Rs 52 to Rs 4,187 per quintal in future trade today as traders liquidated positions taking cues from weak physical markets.
Marketmen said, apart from a weak trend at the physical markets on muted demand from oil mills, higher supplies from growing regions, attributed fall in mustardseed prices in futures trading.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustardseed for delivery in January dropped by Rs 52, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 4,187 per quintal, having an open interest of 34,730 lots.
In a similar fashion, delivery in far-month April too eased by Rs 5, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 3,885 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 10,720 lots.
