Mustardseed prices dropped by Rs 20 to Rs 3,838 per quintal in futures trading today as traders reduced their holdings, taking weak cues form the physical markets.
Marketmen said, a weak trend at the spot markets due to muted demand from oil mills amid persistent supplies from growing regions, mainly weighed on mustardseed prices here in futures trading.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in April declined by Rs 20, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 3,838 per quintal, in an open interest of 39,090 lots.
Similarly, delivery in May also fell by Rs 17, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 3,882 per quintal, having an open interest of 8,810 lots.
