Mustardseed prices rose by 1.82 at Rs 4,092 per quintal in futures trading today as operators were seen enlarging positions on the back of a firming trend at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in May contracts edged up by Rs7 3, or 1.82 per cent to Rs 4,092 per quintal, having an open interest of 12,370 lots.
On similar lines, delivery in far-month April gained Rs 68, or 1.71 per cent to Rs 4,044 per quintal, with an open interest of 45,970 lots.
Marketmen attributed rise in mustardseed prices to pick up in demand at the spot markets amidst tight supplies from growing regions.
