Mustardseed prices eased by Rs 18 to Rs 4,277 per quintal in futures trading today as participants trimmed their positions, triggered by reports of good crops estimate amid weak physical sentiments.
Marketmen said cut down in positions by participants on reports of good standing crops in growing regions such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana mainly weighed on mustardseed prices at futures trade here.
Besides, slackened demand from oil mills against persistent supplies in spot markets too had its shadow on prices, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in January month contract slipped by Rs 18 or 0.42 per cent to Rs 4,277 per quintal, having an open interest of 21,310 lots.
Also, February delivery was trading lower by Rs 14 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 3,911 per quintal, showing an open interest of 16,260 lots.
