Mustardseed prices were up by Rs 79 to Rs 4,116 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in widening their positions, taking positive cues from spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in far-month July contracts climbed Rs 79, or 1.96 per cent, to Rs 4,116 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,500 lots.

On similar lines, most-active delivery in April contracts rose by Rs 28, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 3,978 per quintal, in a business turnover of 68,340 lots.

Marketmen said widening of positions by participants, driven by a firming trend at the physical markets, supported the upside in mustardseed prices at futures trade here.
